Potatoes can be cooked in a wide range of delicious foods which one of them is classic pommes Anna or known as Anna potatoes. This delicious food comes from French that consists of sliced and layered potatoes cooked with melted butter. This classic French dish is suitable to be eaten with your family during a family gathering or with your friends.

Ingredients to Make Classic Pommes Anna
As the name suggests, classic pommes Anna is made of potatoes. Prepare 1 kg of waxy potatoes, peel them and slice thinly. Then, you also need to prepare 225 grams of melted butter. To make the taste tastier, add salt and fresh ground pepper based on your preference. The ingredients for this dish aren’t too many and it only takes 1 hour 15 minutes to cook it. The preparation takes 15 minutes and 1 hour to bake the potato.

The first step to make classic pommes Anna is preheating the oven to 2000c/gas 6. Then, prepare a colander and put the sliced potatoes in it. Clean the sliced potatoes by washing them under running water. After they all clean, place them on a cloth in a layer and let them dry.
Next, melt the butter on an ovenproof pan and arrange the sliced potatoes on the pan into circle form. Brush each layer of potatoes with butter and add the seasoning when you fry them. To make the sliced potatoes cooked well, cover them with a lid or greaseproof paper. Then, bake them in the oven for around 45 minutes or until 1 hour. You can test whether they are done by using a skewer.

In order to get a good result of classic pommes Anna, you can use a cast-iron with stubby-handled frying pan in the oven. If you choose to bake it traditionally, you can use a lid but if not using greaseproof paper is also a good idea.
